WARNING…Woo-woo, new-age, sentimental post coming. Don’t read if you hate this stuff…
Anyhoo…
I did some goal-setting several years ago. They included becoming a copywriter and working from the road, guiding the Gauley, and spending the winter in Ecuador. I did another activity that I’ll share in a sec….
I’m posting this for two reasons. 1. I think expressing gratitude paves the way for more awesomeness to ensue. 2. Some of you might think this is cool and want to try it.
Three years ago, (I think), one of my mentors suggested the “Perfect Day Exercise” where you write down the “plot” of your envisioned perfect day. The time you get up, what you eat, what you do, and who you do it with.
Lots of detail.
Mine was essentially winter in South America, get up early, eat good local food, work online as a copywriter, go paddling, and eat more local food with locals who had become friends.
I’m on my 5th perfect day in a row. (Kind of…I had to take day 4 off because I was too sore to paddle).
The rivers are awesome, we’re making new friends, the food’s fantastic. I’m incredibly grateful for my clients who trust their businesses with me and have provided this opportunity. I’m grateful for my friends and family who have supported and encouraged my dreams. And most importantly, mi preciosa who worked so hard last winter to make this financially possible.
It’s been muy muy bueno so far and we haven’t even been here a week.
And I’m on the guide schedule for tomorrow. Go figure.
It might be a bit of a woo-woo activity…but consider trying it.
Te amo….
